We are a few doors off Sanjo-dori in Nakagyo ward, roughly six minutes on foot from Karasuma-Oike Station. There is no sign above the door, only a crate of whatever we are pressing that week on the step.
Ripeness readings
The number on the label records sugar content at pressing. It describes the fruit that went in. It is not a grade, not a health claim, and not a promise that the next bottle of the same blend will read the same.
Food, not medicine
Everything we write about pears, sanbokan, and acidity is about flavour. We make no claims about health effects and nothing on this site should be treated as nutritional advice.
Seasonality
Two prefectures and six growers means a short list that changes constantly. A blend on the site today may be finished tomorrow. We would rather run out than buy fruit we have not tasted.
Governing law
Japanese law governs. The Kyoto District Court hears any dispute at first instance.
Standing orders
A restaurant or café can place a standing weekly order for what we are already pressing. We will not commit to a specific blend on a specific day, because the fruit decides that, not us.
Changes to these terms
As the grower list and the board change, these terms change with them. The revised text and its effective date appear on this page; continuing to use the site after that date means you accept them.
Severability
One clause failing does not void the rest. Consumer rights under Japanese law stand whatever this page says.

Bottles and collection
Bottles are returnable and carry a deposit. Bring one back rinsed and it comes off the next purchase; a chipped bottle cannot go back into rotation and its deposit is not refunded.
Held bottles are kept for two days. After that we cannot vouch for them and they go into the staff fridge rather than back on the shelf.
What sits with us
Our responsibility is the bottle: what is in it, what the label says, and the date it was pressed. We stand behind all three.
Unpasteurised juice is perishable and does not tolerate a warm bag. Once it leaves the counter, keeping it cold is on you, and we will not replace a bottle that spent the afternoon in the sun.
Suggestions
Regulars suggest fruit and occasionally we chase it down. If something you proposed ends up on the board, your name goes on the card if you want it there. There is no payment involved and no claim over the blend afterwards, on either side.
